Above is my "twenty ten list" I am usually against the whole resolution thing because people make such goals that should just be a nature part of life, well that is me this year... the simplest things are on my list and they should just be no-brainers but yet they still seem to come into my life. Not anymore!
2010, it's here and it came fast. The past week or so I had some time off from the normal job and really did a good job of wasting it. I am kicking myself right now for not taking advantage of the time off. Ok, with that said I am going to stop with the whining and move forward, chalk it up as a lesson learned... don't be so damn lazy!
With the ending of '09, I decided to make a list, I don't want to call it a list of New Year's resolutions, it's more of a list of things I need to change / work on. '09 was a love hate relationship, I am going to leave it at that. To look at it with the glass half full I will just say that '09 was a learning of what I want to change for '10.
With no further interruptions, here is the "twenty ten to do list" with some explanations :
1: Not so messy
This one was brought to my attention by loved ones, well not really brought to my attention but more of reenforced by them. I am a pretty messy person, I don't mean to be, I don't like to be, I just always say I don't have enough time to clean up... which is a load of bull. I need to take the time, its really not that hard. so that is a huge thing for me this year.
2: Drink less
This one is pretty self explanitory, and if #3 works then I will have less reason to drink.
3: Less drama
I understand that a lot of drama in uncontrollable, but I am going to do my best to not be a part of it... there is really no need and nothing good comes from it, speaking from experience.
4: Wake up earlier (even on days off)
I consider myself a night owl, I used to get a lot of work done at night and I didn't mind sleeping in when I got the chance. Lately that is a different story, I have not been getting as much done and really just sit around and watch TV at night. For those of you who know me personally you know this one will be a big challenge. I am just going to get my grumpy rear out of bed in the morning and get into a routine... like updating my sites, getting ready for the day, read a little and maybe even a nice cup of Joe. Wish me luck on this one.
5: Ride bike more
My poor bike, it has been in pieces for about 2 months now... again, cause I didn't have "time" to put it back together. Well that is going to change this week. Heck I might even enjoy a ride to work once or twice.
6: Update websites more often
I have been lacking on this one. I always feel like I don't have much to talk about, and I am usually right, but that is because I haven't been doing much of anything. If all goes according to plan with this list I should always have stuff to bore you with on this site and rad stuff on my side project Unseen Beauty.
7: draw more
So you would think that this one shouldn't even be on the list... I mean I try and call myself an artist but yet I feel I need to draw more?? I do, I love to draw and just doodle but I always get in my own head and think way to much before the pen even hits the freakin paper. So a good way for me to make sure I get out of my head and just enjoy drawing again is to crack open a new Field Notes and make sure I draw at least one thing a day.
So if you made it down this far... I thank you! Trust me, all the post won't be like this, promise. The main reason for doing this one was to make me physically write down my list with hopes that is will have a better chance of sticking. With all that said, I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
